A striking pin from two legendary American makers Black, Starr & Gorham and Cini from the 1940-50s era. Crafted in sterling silver, this bold piece features an alluring moonstone cabochon resting within a bezel setting encircled by a twisted rope design. Two griffin-like creatures frame the base of the pin, their faces pointing outward and their plumes curling forward?as their feathered wings cradle the moonstone. A floral design decorates the bottom of the piece while flames erupt from a billowing torch at the top. The moonstone emits wonderful flashes of blue, complementing the pins elegant design and the underside of the piece is stamped "BLACK, STARR & GORHAM Sterling by CINI" and the number "12". A simple bar pin and clasp secure the piece. This fabulous pin would look great in the modern woman's collection!
Measurements:?The pin measures approximately 1 5/16" tall and 1 9/16" wide. The moonstone measures 7/16" tall and nearly 9/16" wide.
Condition:?The pin is in overall excellent condition. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling setting or moonstone, which is intact. The pin clasp is secure and in good working order.
